Nvidia and OpenAI in Talks Over Major AI Investments in the United Kingdom

Nvidia and OpenAI are currently in discussions regarding a potential strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the UK's technological foundation through the development of data centers. The proposed project could be worth several billion dollars, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Multiple technical and logistical aspects of the collaboration are still being assessed, with cloud computing company Nscale also involved in the process. Although negotiations are progressing, a final agreement has not yet been reached.

Details of the initiative are expected to be unveiled during Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to the UK, adding political weight to the potential deal and emphasizing its global significance.

Neither Nvidia nor Nscale immediately responded to media inquiries, while OpenAI declined to comment. However, the background of the talks indicates serious intentions to expand operations within the region.

The concept of “sovereign” artificial intelligence is gaining traction as countries aim to relocate key AI systems within their own borders. The goal is to boost technological self-sufficiency and reduce reliance on foreign infrastructure.

Recent remarks by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang reinforce the company's interest in the UK market. He described the country as an extremely attractive destination for large-scale investment, likening it to a “Goldilocks” environment of ideal market conditions.
